1. Critical for chronic acid reflux
Acid reflux means 3 things are happening: low hydrochloric acid production, unproductive bacteria such as strep and e. Coli & a weakened liver. Celery juice helps improve these.
2. Fights autoimmune disease
Pathogens are the true cause of the inflammation that’s mistakenly considered autoimmune. Celery juice’s undiscovered sodium cluster salts can break down & flush out these pathogens.
3. Helps restore adrenals
The undiscovered sodium cluster salts in celery juice help keep your adrenals stable & functioning.
4. Contains undiscovered sodium cluster salts that reverse illness
Celery juice’s undiscovered sodium cluster salts act together as an antiseptic. When they make contact with viruses & bacteria—troublemakers responsible for chronic illness—the salts begin to break down the pathogens’ cell membranes, eventually destroying them.
5. Neutralizes & flushes toxins out of the liver
Celery juice’s sodium cluster salts bind onto neurotoxins, dermatoxins, & other viral waste, as well as troublemakers, & draw them out of the liver.
6. Helps eradicate strep bacteria
Strep is responsible for many conditions, like acne, UTIs, SIBO, yeast infections, & more. Celery juice helps destroy strep.
7. Kills Epstein-Barr & Shingles viruses
The white blood cells of the liver’s personalized immune system add the cluster salts to their cell membrane coatings, making them toxic to viruses.
8. Brings down toxic liver heat
Celery juice purges a sluggish liver while bringing down liver heat.
9. Powerful weapon against SIBO & bloating
Celery juice is a powerful stomach acid replenisher so that gastric juices can kill strep, which causes SIBO. It also breaks down rotting protein & rancid fats in the stomach & small intestinal tract, helping bloating.
10. Repairs hydrochloric acid & liver bile production
Celery juice strengthens hydrochloric acid & bile production & strengthens the liver, which then allows for better bile production.

The Liver Rescue Smoothie is a key recipe in Liver Rescue because it offers such powerful healing support for the liver, which makes it helpful for every kind of chronic illness and symptom. It’s also a central recipe in the Liver Rescue 3:6:9 Cleanse included in Liver Rescue.
The first smoothie option below is a fast, simple, antioxidant-rich tonic to add to your life for deep liver healing. The second smoothie option is a light, cheery alternative that brings together greens and fruit. If you’ve never thought of adding sprouts to your smoothie before, now is a perfect time to try it out. They’re powerful and mild, and they blend perfectly into this smooth, tropical treat.
In Liver Rescue, I share how each of the ingredients in this smoothie can support you and your loved ones in healing. Let’s take a look at each of the star ingredients…
Pitaya (also called dragon fruit): The red pigment in the red-fleshed variety of pitaya is a rejuvenator for your liver, bringing cells back to life. It helps your liver produce cells faster so regeneration of the liver can occur. It’s a fountain of youth fruit for the liver that slows down and stops liver aging by caring for its deep, inner core, which in most cases succumbs to disease if left neglected for too long. Look for packs of frozen red pitaya in the frozen section of the grocery store or online, or you may find it fresh in your area. If neither is available where you live, seek out pure pitaya powder.
Wild blueberries: Contain dozens of undiscovered antioxidants, including anthocyanin varieties. There’s not just one pigment inside a wild blueberry; there are dozens of pigments not yet researched or studied. The wild blueberry is to the liver as mother’s milk is to a baby. Not only do wild blueberries have the ability to grab on to plenty of troublemakers, they also hold on to them as they leave the liver, in a way that most other healing foods cannot. The pigments in wild blueberries have the ability to saturate deep into liver cells and cross cell walls and membranes inside the liver, spreading their blue everywhere. Wild blueberries enhance the intestinal tract, feeding good bacteria there, which benefits the liver greatly. Look for packs of frozen wild blueberries in the frozen section of the grocery store or online, or you may find it fresh in your area. If neither is available where you live, seek out pure wild blueberry powder.
Liver Rescue Smoothie
2 bananas or ½ Maradol papaya, cubed
½ cup fresh, 1 packet frozen, or 2 tablespoons powdered red pitaya (dragon fruit)
2 cups fresh or frozen or 2 tablespoons powdered wild blueberries
½ cup water (optional)
1 banana or ¼ Maradol papaya, cubed
½ cup fresh, 1 packet frozen, or 2 tablespoons powdered red pitaya (dragon fruit)
1 celery stalk
½ cup sprouts (any variety)
½ cup water (optional)
Combine all ingredients in the blender. Blend until smooth. If desired, stream in up to ½ cup of water until desired consistency is reached.
Makes 1-2 servings
* If you don’t have access to the options for pitaya and/or wild blueberries, substitute blackberries, cultivated blueberries, or cherries.
*Try adding at least one frozen element to your smoothie. This ensures that your smoothie stays nice and cold!

This dish can be made with either raw or cooked cauliflower rice. While it may seem intimidating to think of making your own sushi rolls, it’s surprisingly easy. They don’t have to look perfect in order to taste great! The options for filling your sushi rolls are endless. Try incorporating fresh herbs like mint, basil, and cilantro for a fresh twist, or branch out into other liver-healing vegetables like radishes, asparagus, or sprouts. You can even incorporate cooked vegetables like sweet potatoes or any variety of squash.
Cauliflower: A nutrient rich vegetable that is excellent for supporting a strong immune system and optimum health. Cauliflower is incredibly high in vitamin C, K, and B-complex and minerals such as boron, calcium, molybdenum, and tryptophan. It is also a good source of high quality protein that is easily assimilated into the body. Cauliflower contains powerful anti-cancer compounds such as indole-3-carbinol and sulforaphane which are particularly beneficial for helping to prevent breast, cervical, ovarian, colon, stomach, and prostate cancers.
Cucumbers: Allies to the liver due to their ability to hydrate it. Your liver’s always in need of living water that’s filled with minerals and other nutrients, because your liver keeps your blood hydrated. It relies on sources such as cucumber for that living water. This minimizes dirty blood syndrome by helping reduce fats and toxins inside of dirty blood. Phytochemical compounds in cucumbers act as anti-inflammatories to the small intestines and colon. Cucumbers have a gentle blood-thinning ability, too, allowing for detox to occur naturally, without obstruction.
6 toasted nori sheets
1 cucumber, thinly sliced
1 carrot, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 cup thinly sliced red cabbage
1 avocado, thinly sliced
½ cup water
THAI CHILI SAUCE
1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes
1 cup cold water or fresh squeezed orange juice
¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes
1 garlic clove
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons honey
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon minced Thai red chili or ripe jalapeño
Cut the cauliflower into florets (it should yield approximately 6 cups of florets). Place the florets into a food processor and pulse until a rice-like texture forms. Place the cauliflower rice in a medium bowl and set to one side.
If you’d prefer to have cooked cauliflower rice, cook the processed cauliflower in a sauté pan over medium heat, stirring frequently for 5 to 7 minutes until tender. There is no need to add oil or water to the pan, as the cauliflower itself should remain moist enough to avoid sticking. When the cauliflower rice is tender, set it aside in a medium bowl to cool.
Place one sheet of nori on a cutting board. Scoop about ¾ cup of cauliflower rice onto the end of the nori sheet closest to you and spread it into an even layer covering the bottom half of the nori. Arrange the desired filling vegetables in the middle of the cauliflower rice.
Carefully lift the nori from the bottom edge close to you and begin rolling it tightly toward the top. Just before finishing the roll, dip your finger in the water or orange juice and run it along the top edge of the sheet. This will help the nori stick to itself as you complete your roll. Using a sharp knife, slice each sushi roll into even pieces.
To make the Thai Chili Sauce, blend the fresh tomatoes, water, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, lemon juice, honey, and red pepper flakes together with up to 1 tablespoon of minced Thai red chili or jalapeño according to desired spiciness.
Makes 2 servings

Your body has such an incredible power to heal—it just needs your assistance to make that possible. The Medical Medium 28-Day Cleanse I shared in my book Medical Medium: Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal is a potent way to use food to support and begin healing your entire body, including the immune system, endocrine system, digestive system, cardiovascular system and nervous system.
I’ve helped people use these same principles and foods in the 28-Day Cleanse to turn people’s health around for decades. The reason this cleanse is so effective and important is because we take in all kinds of toxins and pathogens as we go through life, including toxic heavy metals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, everyday household chemicals, viruses, bacteria and more. These harmful substances collect and cause all kinds of chronic, mysterious illnesses and symptoms.
When you clean out those toxins and pathogens from the body and support your body with the nutrients it needs, you can turn around those health problems, including fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Lyme disease, tremors and shakes, gout, eczema and psoriasis, migraines, headaches, aches and pains, diabetes, blood sugar issues, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, brain fog, anxiety, panic attacks and depression. In Medical Medium, I outline the cleanse and share exactly how to do it and how it works, so I recommend you have it on hand for a helpful guide.
Your liver, which is the body’s detox powerhouse, takes the brunt of all the toxins we encounter in modern life. The liver works hard but it can only do so much in the face of a constant onslaught of pathogens and their byproduct, toxins, high-fat and high-protein foods (whether plant based or animal based), adrenaline and more, so over time it can become mucky, stagnant, fatty and weak. When the liver is overburdened, the entire toxic load of the body rises, causing more illness. (My book Liver Rescue: Answers to Eczema, Psoriasis, Diabetes, Strep, Acne, Gout, Bloating, Gallstones, Adrenal Stress, Fatigue, Fatty Liver, Weight Issues, SIBO & Autoimmune Disease provides more details about the starring role your liver plays for your health, including the hundreds of what I call Liver Troublemakers that are behind illnesses and symptoms.)
When our bodies are carrying a heavy toxic load and then we’re eating in ways that add even more of a burden, things start to really break down. But, thankfully, our bodies can heal and recover if we give them the right support. The Medical Medium 28-Day Cleanse is a powerful way to assist your body so you can return to good health and wellbeing.
Keep in mind that we are all unique individuals with a different toxic load. One person might have a high load of the streptococcus bacteria and Epstein-Barr virus with a low level of mercury while someone else has high levels of copper and low levels of Epstein-Barr virus plus a lot of pharmaceutical residue. Someone else may have an especially high level of adrenaline being released from one traumatic hardship in life after another along with the shingles virus and a lot of MSG in the brain. The varying mixes means everyone will experience different results from the 28-Day Cleanse. Some people might feel immediate relief while others might take more time. The cleanse isn’t going to work like clockwork because no two people are exactly the same. Even if you don’t see results right away, the longer you continue with the cleanse, the more results you will see in time. You don’t have to stop at 28 days, you can keep going until you see healing happening and even make it your long term lifestyle if you wish.
A Health Reboot
Whether you could just use a reboot to clean things out, strengthen your immune system, and help prevent future problems or you’ve been facing numerous chronic health issues for years, the 28-Day Cleanse can do wonders. I’ve seen people recover from multiple sclerosis by living the cleanse as their lifestyle. I’ve watched it heal the worst cases of eczema and psoriasis. And I’ve seen people who couldn’t even get out of bed turn their lives around and regain energy. That’s the power our bodies have to heal when we give them what they need, like an abundance of fruits, leafy greens and vegetables, and remove what is harmful to our bodies. It’s extraordinary.
Now even if you’re a person who can’t do the full cleanse, you can certainly study it and take the elements that work for you. Some people commit to the cleanse for one week, and often the next thing they know they’re finishing all four weeks. Set goals that work for you. And if you want to do the cleanse protocol repeatedly, or go longer than 28 days, go for it. There’s no harm in that and it can only do you good.
The full cleanse: focuses on raw fruits and vegetables; is low in fat; and eliminates processed food, dairy and animal products. To understand why these foods are eliminated, you can read Liver Rescue. Don’t be afraid of eating raw foods, by the way. They’re actually often easier to digest than cooked foods because the raw version still contains all the living enzymes that naturally help with digestion. Some people believe they can’t digest raw foods, but what is actually happening is that they feel these fibrous foods sweeping along sensitive nerves in their gut and feel discomfort. But this does not mean they are not being digested. If someone sees pieces of raw fruits or vegetables in their bowel movement, it means they have weak digestion and low bile and hydrochloric acid, but this will be the case no matter what they eat.
It’s also important not to be afraid of eating fruit, either. Fruit is the most healing, cleansing, essential food on the planet. It’s also the easiest to digest. It’s an incredibly important food for your health. If you have a fear of fruit, please read Medical Medium or listen to my radio show on Fruit Fear so you’ll understand what a gift fruit really is.
A Snapshot of the Medical Medium 28-Day Cleanse
The Medical Medium 28-Day Cleanse has helped millions of people across the globe improve their health. Again, Medical Medium gives much more detail, but here’s a snapshot of what it can look like. I hope you’ll give it a try.
A cleansing beverage before breakfast:
This can be lemon water (that is, lemon squeezed into a glass of water), straight celery juice (see the Medical Medium book for more on this miraculous drink I brought to the world that millions of people across the globe are now drinking every morning), barley grass juice powder mixed into water, cucumber juice, or coconut water with some spirulina in it.
Make a fruit smoothie, with a recipe such as three bananas, two dates, and a cup of wild blueberries along with some papaya, mango, pears or whatever else you like. Or you could do a green smoothie and include some spinach, kale, cilantro, a couple stocks of celery or a spoonful of barley grass juice powder. You could also use the Heavy Metal Detox smoothie recipe as your breakfast. The goal of this smoothie breakfast is to give your digestive tract a break so you can heal. Consider making a double batch so you can drink the smoothie again for a snack or for another meal if you’d like.
Make another fruit-based smoothie or drink the second serving of the one you made for breakfast. You have options here, and it’s important that you do not go hungry.
Make a salad with spinach, lettuce and cucumber as the base. Then add foods like papaya, grapes, oranges, grapefruit and mango, along with some orange juice or a small amount of avocado (or the dressing I share in Medical Medium). You could also choose to use a little bit guacamole with lime juice on top instead. You can add items like raw red cabbage, celery, arugula, baby kale, sprouts, scallions and raw cauliflower into your salad if you wish.
Choose some fruit, such as apples, pears, dates, celery sticks or even a spoonful of raw honey as a pickup.
The creamy raw spinach soup recipe I share in Medical Medium tastes great and will do wonders for your body. When this soup is eaten daily, I’ve seen it turn people’s health around—and especially improve skin and eye conditions—in in countless ways. This spinach soup is blended up so your body can easily digest and absorb all the amazing nutrients.
Snack on a piece of fruit, like an apple or a date.
However you work the cleanse, I want to be sure you do not go hungry. Sometimes when people are on a cleanse they end up hardly eating anything. That’s not healthy. That’s not the goal. In fact, eating to little hinders the progress you’ll make. Make sure you stock up with plenty of fruits and vegetables so you can stay satisfied and well fed during the entire cleanse.
More Ideas and Alternatives
There’s plenty of room for modifications on this cleanse. You don’t need to follow exact menus. You can swap out lunch and dinner by eating two salads. Or you can have a smoothie three times a day, eating one for lunch and dinner too. You can cycle through different salad greens, just be sure you’re eating lots of raw spinach every day (and don’t buy into the myth that raw spinach is unhealthy; on the contrary it’s a miracle food). Eating raw spinach is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Try the spinach soup on cucumber noodles. Throw mangos, cucumber, cilantro, garlic and celery into a food processor and serve that on cucumber boats or cucumber noodles. Or, put apples, cauliflower and cabbage into a food processor and grind it up as another great detoxifying snack.
Some people get a little nervous about eating entirely raw foods. If you need to, feel free to add in a cooked option such as a steamed potato, which you could chop up and throw on a salad. Potatoes are really healing and are a great option. Another choice is to steam winter squash, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli or asparagus and put that on your dinner salad.
A Gift For You and Your Body
As a recap, the 28-Day Cleanse is incredibly powerful. It will help you clean and clear your liver from the buildup of viruses, bacteria, toxic heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and everyday chemicals like perfume and conventional household cleaning products. It will break down and eliminate leftovers, such as rancid fats that have been sitting in the lining of your digestive tract. It will restore your adrenals. It will rebuild and rebalance your hydrochloric acid levels so you can digest foods efficiently. And it will allow you to absorb the nutrients that all the systems in your body (especially your central nervous system) need in order to function well.
This cleanse was created to help you. It has a great history of turning lives around. Take this cleanse, like everything, one day at a time. If you can only do it for one week, do it for one week. Hang in there. Over time, you may end up doing two weeks, or even more. Just know that I’m here for you and I’m proud of you for doing something good for yourself and your loved ones.

Plain, fresh celery juice is one of the most powerful healing juices available to us. This clean, green drink is the very best way to start your day. Make this juice a part of your daily routine, and soon you won’t want to go a day without it!
1 bunch of celery
Rinse the celery and run it through a juicer. Drink immediately for best results.
Alternatively, you can chop the celery and blend it in a high-speed blender until smooth. Don’t add water or ice for the greatest healing benefits, use only celery. Strain the blended celery well through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth or nut milk bag and drink immediately.
CELERY JUICE TIPS
If you want to heal and improve your health quickly and efficiently, follow this routine:
* Every morning, drink 16 ounces or more of celery juice on an empty stomach. Make sure it’s fresh, plain celery juice with no other ingredients. Celery juice is a medicinal, not a caloric drink, so you’ll still need breakfast afterward to power you through the morning. Simply wait at least 15 to 30 minutes after drinking your celery juice before consuming anything else.
* If you’re sensitive and 16 ounces is too much, start with a smaller amount and work your way up. You can also drink more than 16 ounces. Many people love to drink 32 ounces daily.
* Use organic celery whenever possible. If you’re using conventional celery, be sure to wash it especially well before juicing.
* If you find the taste of straight celery juice too strong, you can juice one cucumber and/or one apple with the celery. This is a great option as you get adjusted to the flavor. As you get used to it, keep increasing the ratio of celery until your juice is only celery; the greatest benefits come when celery juice is consumed on its own.
I hope you will bring celery juice into your life soon—doing so will deeply support you in healing.

This dairy-free, fat-free soup is like a hug inside a bowl. It’s creamy, warm, and comforting. The nourishing rich flavor of kabocha squash blends beautifully with the warmth of garlic, onions, and curry. This is a great one to make ahead and freeze so that you have an instant satisfying option on hand whenever you need it.
Winter squash (including kabocha, acorn, delicata, and butternut): Loaded with nutrients that our livers can easily store. High in carotenoids that protect liver cells from damage. The glucose in winter squash can stabilize the liver, allowing blood sugar to stabilize overall in the body.
Garlic: Since the liver deals with an onslaught of pathogens, it needs herbs and foods that help it fight its cause. Garlic is one such herbal food. The medicinal, pungent, astringent quality of garlic is a pathogen’s worst nightmare. Phytochemical compounds from garlic seep through the walls of the intestinal tract into blood vessels that lead up through the hepatic portal vein into the liver. The liver’s immune system welcomes these compounds because it knows they’re like a relief army coming in so the immune system can find reprieve and retreat to build up its forces. These phytochemical compounds are like throwing sand in someone’s eyes; they literally hit a variety of pathogens inside the liver, forcing them to back down and even killing off some of them. If you’re sensitive to garlic, try onions; they have similar qualities. If you’re not sensitive to garlic, don’t be afraid to bring it in when you feel like it.
Kabocha Squash Soup
1 medium kabocha squash (see Tips)
3 cups vegetable broth (see Tips)
1 cup diced onion
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon curry powder
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ lime, juiced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
¼ teaspoon sea salt
½ cup water
Bring a large pot of water to a rapid boil and submerge the whole kabocha squash, stem and all. Boil the squash for 10 minutes, flipping it upside down halfway through. Remove the squash carefully and set aside to cool.
When the squash is cool enough to handle comfortably, peel it, slice it in half, and remove the seeds. Cut the squash into cubes; this should yield about 4 cups. Place the cubed kabocha squash into a pot along with the vegetable broth, diced onion, garlic cloves, curry powder, sea salt, and lime juice. Bring the broth to a boil and then reduce to a rapid simmer, stirring frequently. Continue to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until the squash is tender and cooked through.
Transfer the entire contents to a blender and blend until smooth, slowly at first, allowing an opening for steam to escape through the top of the blender. Serve warm, topped with red pepper flakes if desired.
*Make your own broth using the Liver Rescue Broth recipe on page 368 of Liver Rescue. Alternatively, you can find low-sodium vegetable broth at the grocery store (make sure it doesn’t have canola oil, citric acid, natural flavors, or other sneaky additives) or replace the broth with water in a pinch.
*If kabocha squash is unavailable where you live, try substituting butternut squash, acorn squash, or even sweet potato instead. You’ll need about 6 cups cubed squash of any variety.
Makes 2 to 4 servings

These healthy, low-fat vibrant Veggie Spring Rolls are fun to make and even better to eat! You can stick to the recipe exactly or experiment with other combinations of fruits, herbs and vegetables you love. You could even get your family or friends involved and make and enjoy these together. We hope you love them!
In this recipe, the cucumbers are allies to the liver due to their ability to hydrate it.
Radishes are another star ingredient in this recipe. They are a strong medicine for our livers. The pungent, biting nature of radishes comes from a compilation of chemical compounds, many of them undiscovered, that act as disinfectants to the liver, stopping pathogen infection and boosting the liver’s personalized immune system by increasing its white blood cells’ ability to fight and destroy invaders.
Veggie Spring Rolls
10-12 brown rice wrappers
1/4 small red cabbage, thinly sliced
1 large carrot, cut into matchsticks
3-4 radishes, thinly sliced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
1/2 English cucumber, cut into matchsticks
1 medium-sized avocado, thinly sliced (optional)
1-2 tsp black or white sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
1/4 cup tahini
2 1/2 tbsp lime juice
1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
2-3 tbsp water
1/2 inch knob of ginger, finely grated
1 garlic clove, finely grates
1/4 tsp ground cilantro
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
2 tsp coconut aminos (optional)
Sea salt, to taste (omit if using coconut aminos)
Black pepper, to taste
Make the sauce by putting all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisking until smooth and combined. Add water to reach desired consistency. Pour into a serving bowl and set aside.
To make the spring rolls, fill a bowl or pan big enough to fit the rice paper with warm water. Soak the rice paper in the water for about 30 seconds - until pliable but not soggy. Place the rice paper on a work surface and arrange the fillings on the 1/3 of the rice paper closest to you. Fold the left and right edges of the rice paper in, then starting from the bottom, roll up to cover the filling. Keep rolling firmly, the rice paper is sticky and will seal itself. Repeat with remaining ingredients. To serve, leave the rolls whole or cut them in half with a sharp knife. Sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using) and serve with the dipping sauce.

Bring in the New Year with this lightly fizzy, refreshing Champagne Mocktail. The coconut water and lime juice not only gives this drink great flavor, but also offers critical hydration, glucose and minerals. Add the pomegranate seeds for a festive touch or skip them altogether.
Coconut water has the ability to hydrate the body on a deep, cellular level making it an essential beverage for athletes and those that live a busy, active life. It also has been shown to help balance pH levels, boost the immune system, and support kidneys in filtering toxins and reducing the risk of kidney stones. Coconut water is also highly beneficial for cardiovascular health as it can help to reduce blood pressure and increase healthy circulation. It is also a vitally important drink for those who are suffering with a chronic illness such as migraines, sinusitis, COPD, fibromyalgia, asthma, PCOS, cardiomyopathy, crohn's disease, epilepsy, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, hypothyroidism, arthritis, lupus, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
The antioxidant flavonoids in limes are another ally in fighting disease. And when you’re dealing with a cold, flu, bronchitis, or pneumonia, lemon is one of the most effective mucus expellers you can find. Limes are also amazing cleansers of the liver, kidneys, spleen, thyroid, and gallbladder. They purge the many toxic substances we collect from exposure to plastics, synthetic chemicals, radiation, and poor food choices.
1 cup coconut water
3/4 cup sparkling mineral water
2-3 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1/4 cup pomegranate seeds (optional)
Lime slices, to serve

These sweet and gooey Banana Cinnamon Rolls taste like a truly decadent treat. But the best part is that they don’t contain any gluten, dairy, refined sugar, or other problematic ingredients so you can enjoy them in abundance knowing they are truly good for you! You can make this recipe in an oven or dehydrator. Either way, they’ll be delicious!
The fructose in banana is the liver’s favorite source of food. It provides quick fuel to the liver and wakes up sleepy cells, increasing their ingenuity and work output. Soothes the linings of the intestinal tract and also soothes the nerves attached to the intestinal tract. Contrary to popular belief, bananas are one of the most antibacterial, anti-yeast, anti-fungal foods. A great food to combine with other nutrient-rich foods or to take with supplements, because they improve the liver’s ability to absorb nutrients.
Banana Cinnamon Rolls
3-4 ripe bananas
1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped, for topping (optional)
1 cup dates, pitted
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp alcohol-free vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt (optional)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup date paste (recipe above)
1/3-1/2 cup water
2 tbsp cashew butter/almond butter/tahini (optional)
Preheat oven to 250F (or use a food dehydrator). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Slices bananas into 3 vertical pieces and arrange on baking sheet. Bake for 2 hours in the oven or 3-4 hours at 115F in the dehydrator, until you can roll them without breaking them.
Make the date paste filling by combining dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, vanilla, salt and water in a food processor or blender and blending until smooth. Add a bit more water if needed. Set aside 1/2 cup for the date caramel.
Once the bananas are cooked, let them cool for 15 minutes. Flip the banana slices over, then coat one side of the banana with the paste and roll up into a cinnamon roll. To make bigger rolls, roll an additional banana slice onto the roll.
Place the cinnamon rolls back in the oven for 1.5 hours or in the dehydrator for 2-3 hours.
Make the date caramel by whisking together the separated date caramel, water and nut butter (if using) until you get a smooth sauce. Drizzle on top of the cinnamon buns and sprinkle on chopped walnuts (optional). Best served immediately.
Makes 9-12 servings
